From seaweed to hats, toilet paper to foam and wood to glitter – sometimes materials are made from unexpected ingredients. Solving the challenges of the future requires creativity and a wide range of skills taught in this book.

Aalto University Bioinnovation Centre wants to ease the climate anxiety of children and youth through hope and doability, and encourage them to experiment with the development and design of bio-based materials. To this goal, the Bioinnovation Center published a material instruction book for children and youth in Finnish.

The book contain basic information on how to make bio-based materials and 17 instructions for making exciting materials yourself. Order the book from Aalto Shop. The English version of the book will be published in 2025.
