The project brought together students from design, materials science and engineering to explore how renewable and waste-based materials could be applied to future product design.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alongside the concept stroller, visitors can discover the individual material explorations that informed the project. The student works investigate alternative materials for different stroller components, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sawdust\u2013methyl cellulose composite backboard<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hemp and lignin biolace blanket<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bio-based tar leather seat inlay cover<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Starch-based foam seat inlay cushion<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recycled fibre foam seat inlay cushion<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Orange peel and wool waste canopy<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cellulose leather-like product labels<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Together, these material studies demonstrate how by-products and renewable resources can be reimagined as functional materials for everyday products.
