This growth takes space from other species growing near the shore line and its decomposition harms benthic animals in the bottom habitats. Collecting the algae helps the ocean, so you can feel good about utilising this free, versatile material. At CHEMARTS, Nina created a DIY tutorial on how to create an algae hat.<\/strong><\/h5>\n[\/vc_column_text]<div class=\"divider-wrap\"><div style=\"height: 15px;\" class=\"divider\"><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CHEMARTS went on to shape Nina\u2019s academic and professional path in unexpected ways. She is currently involved in city- and education-focused projects in Helsinki and the Malminkartano area, while also developing a Baltic Sea\u2013centred design and research practice that builds on her background in biomaterials, sustainability education and material-based design.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reflecting on how CHEMARTS has influenced her career, Nina highlights the importance of combining material knowledge, teaching experience and sustainability thinking. One particularly meaningful experience was co-authoring <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The CHEMARTS Cookbook<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which strengthened her confidence in communicating knowledge about bio-based materials and working in education-driven roles.
