The core of the project has been formed by student projects, which have generated several new ideas and different concepts, such as textiles with varying functional properties, luxury brands within Finnish cellulose and using recyclable clothes as material for 3D-printed new products.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1\/3″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]In 2013 the CHEMARTS collaboration expanded into a large strategic research opening funded by Tekes \u2013 the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation<\/strong>. Titled \u2018Design Driven Value Chains in the World of Cellulose<\/em>\u2019 (DWoC), the project is between Aalto University, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, and Tampere University of Technology.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1\/3″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]CHEMARTS collaboration was nominated The Aalto Act of the Year Award 2014<\/strong>, directed at professors Pirjo K\u00e4\u00e4ri\u00e4inen from the School of Arts, Design and Architecture and Tapani Vuorinen from the School of Chemical Technology in recognition of their interdisciplinary work.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
